Choosing the best food processor for your needs

More expensive than most of my kitchen tools, but how could I live without a food processor.

It is an essential piece of equipment for any serious cook. This is another one of those items that you will have for a long, long time. If too expensive, perhaps you can find a used one at a garage sale or you might even try ebay.

I have a used Cusinart that my neighbor gave me when I lived in New York City. It doesn't have all the fancy blades and attachments, but that's OK, it works great for what I need it to.

A food processor is an important tool for anyone who wants to get somewhat serious about cooking. It's indispensable for large chopping jobs and a must for any type of pureeing.

Don't be scared off thinking its a pain to clean. It's not. You just have to be careful handling the very sharp blades. Not something to leave around for children to play with.

If you can't afford even a used food processor, you can always try using your blender. I've pureed a lot of soups with both my regular blender and my hand blender before my neighbor gave me her food processor.

I also owned one of those mini food processors. I guess it's good for smaller jobs but I found it's just as much work to clean as a standard sized food processor so why not have the larger one. Easier to store, I guess it depends on how much cooking you are doing.

Below are some merchants you can browse to learn what's available, prices and purchase your own food processor. I hope this article helped you with your decision and you come back often to learn more.
